The island of Desroches is among the Amirantes islands, 240 km south-east of Mahé. The island, 5 km long and 1.5 km wide, and has 14 km of immaculate beaches, crystal blue waters and is protected by its own coral reef.

Desroches Island Seychelles boasts twenty elegant beach suites which blend harmoniously with the lush surrounds and their facilities promise optimum comfort. Tastefully decorated in the woods and pastels of the colonial style they are equipped with king size bed and mosquito net, comfortable armchairs, air conditioning and ceiling fan, satellite-linked telephone, mini-bar and safe. Each room has a verandah within the shade of the coconut palms, a day-bed and with an enticing view of the ocean.

Two restaurants specialise in carefully prepared dishes providing a choice of exotic dining locations - many meals being taken barefoot on the beach! Most dishes use fresh produce from Desroches Island's plantation and often incorporate the 'catch of the day'.

On Desroches Island Seychelles there is never a lack of things to do. Explore the island at leisure by bicycle (complimentary for all guests including children) ending up at one of the many secluded beaches. For a full day out the restaurant will be pleased to prepare a lunch picnic for you.

A specialist water sports and activities centre offers an array of activities at Desroches Island Resort. Schedule a boat trip for a trip to well-stocked fishing grounds of the Amirantes to try your hand at bottom fishing or deep sea fishing for the formidable marlin, sailfish or record breaking wahoos and tuna. Fly-fishermen cannot only try the waters off the island, but also those off the nearby islands of Poivre and St. Joseph where bonefish and carangues abound.

Diving is sublime, with no less than 14 classified sites such as the amazing 'Desroches Drop' or 'The Canyon', mysterious labyrinth of unusual caves and columns which will provide a host of unforgettable experiences, all in the company of a dedicated team of attentive professionals.

The water-sports and activities centre will also organise excursions to prime sites such as 'The Aquarium' which offers the very best in snorkelling and opportunities to come across a turtle or two gliding between schools of multicoloured fish. (alternatively, you may cycle across the island to 'The Acquarium', perhaps even taking a freshly prepared packed lunch with you for a fabulous 'day out!') Windsurfers, kayaks and pedalos are also on hand for a spirited ride or just a gentle sail off the shore of Desroches Island Resort in Seychelles. The cooler hours of the evening offer the opportunity for a game of tennis or, alternatively, petanque (bowls).

A fabulous new 'Escape Spa' is set in a magnificent setting beside the ocean and combines traditional Asian massage techniques with full body treatments that will leave you feeling wonderfully exhilirated. There's also a newly completed air-conditioned gymnasium featuring all the latest equipment. An excellent choice of spa treatments is also available to guests.
