1. Please ensure that your passports are valid for at least 6 months prior to your departure date.

2. The Seychelles Rupee is the official currency, and Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Diners Club Credit Cards are widely accepted throughout Seychelles. Travellers Cheques are also accepted in most hotels, guesthouses, restaurants and shops.

3. Visitors are required to use only foreign currency in making payments in hotels, guesthouses and for other holiday related expenses such as hiring of cars, boats, the services of tour operators or travel agents, patronage of casinos and domestic transfers within Seychelles.

4. Incidental purchases or payments such as in restaurants outside hotels, shopping (excluding duty free shops) and taxi fares are payable in local currency (Seychelles rupees and cents).

5. Exchanging money may only be done at banks, authorised money dealers at the Seychelles International Airport or with the hotel cashier. It is a criminal offence to change money with an unauthorised person.

6. It is illegal to enter or leave the country with more than 2,000 Seychelles rupees in Seychelles currency without authorisation.

7. The tourism industry is the major earner of foreign currency for Seychelles and much of what is earned is invested in preserving the natural environment for your and their benefit. Your co-operation will ensure that your own contribution to this industry does indeed benefit the country and their people.
